The Greater DuPage Pony Baseball Association (GDPBA) Pony League will field 25 teams in 2010. Play will begin on April 17th and continue through the July 4th All-Star games.

Four communities play in the GDPBA Pony level: Bolingbrook, Darien, Romeoville and Woodridge. The league is growing and other neighboring communities that are interested in joining the league are encouraged to learn more from this website or by contacting the league directors.

The purpose of the league is to continue to develop a lifelong love and respect for the great game of baseball. At this age, the games will be competitively played. However, strong emphasis is placed on encouragement and continued skill development. Managers and coaches are required to exhibit good sportsmanship and leadership at all times. This should be a positive learning experience for players. We focus on making the games a fun experience for players and parents alike.

The Pony League is made up of two divisions. Both divisions play 7 inning games of full rules baseball on a Pony League sized field; bases are 80 feet apart and the pitchers rubber is 54 feet from home plate.

Parents are required to read and sign a code of conduct policy which is enforced through the year. As such, parents are not allowed to question umpire calls. Only a team’s manager can address the umpires. Any abuse or intimidation, either verbal or physical, of an umpire, manager or coach will not be tolerated.

Any adult in violation of the rules set forth in the code of conduct will be banned from attending future games and the child will be prohibited from participating until the issue is resolved and a written apology is delivered from the offending parent to the umpire, coach, manager or parent.
